SCHOOL COUNSELING SERVICES PLAN

The School Counseling services plan seeks to provide psychopedagogical support and guidance to the Educational Community, focused on student processes and taking into account the roles each person must fulfill.

IMPORTANCE OF THE SERVICE FOR THE SCHOOL.

To present the scope that the School Counseling area of La Salle school aims to develop and strengthen, we first turn to the considerations established by law for the professional practice of educational psychology.

Education is regarded as the foundation of a person’s comprehensive development; for this reason, the presence of a psychologist is necessary at every stage and/or area of education. Since education is a process that requires the support of an educational psychologist, who is responsible for intervening in the student’s adaptation processes and in improving the quality of education, the functions considered appropriate for the school psychologist have always been aimed at prevention, detection, and guidance, for students, parents, and teachers alike.

Keeping the above in mind, the school regulations or code of conduct, Chapter Six: Regulations of the Service Areas, Article 41. On School Counseling (Psycho-guidance), establish that School Counseling is the body that Colegio La Salle offers to the entire Educational Community to advise processes in: Psychological and Family Care, Psychopedagogical Support, Career Guidance, interviews with parents, new students, and support for institutional projects.

Accordingly, the following regulations are established:

  1. Appointments are requested in person or through the Section Coordinator
  2. Arrive on time for assigned appointments
  3. If an appointment must be canceled, notice must be given two days in advance
  4. Attend the appointment with excellent personal presentation
  5. To request attention from School Counselors during class time, written authorization from the Section Coordinator must be presented
  6. Provide the required information truthfully and accurately
  7. Provide reports from any outside process if the student is being seen by a professional outside the school
  8. Be responsible and committed to the guidance given
  9. All information provided will be treated with professional confidentiality.
